Let's Talk About Bondage

Updated: Mar 2, 2023

When I head the story of why the Hindu God Krishna wears a peacock feather I have not been able to look at them the same. Still peacocks are beautiful creatures, when they are in the full feathery spread and even begging for bagels from your car window, there is something quite endearing about them. But that is not what I am talking about and while I am not a scholar it does not take a rock scientist to explain the types of situations that keep one entrapped. It is not only unhealthy, it's not freeing.

Scriptures. I wanted to add a scholarly reference point so that people who need someone elses theories to prove something is corrrect can relax their mind for a moment. xxxxxxxxxx

What are we doing here on this planet. 10 people in a room will give 10 different reasons and they all are right. We need to fulfill our purpose in life to the best of our ability with enthusiam. However why is it that the human experience makes it so difficult for one person to allow another the freedom to be who they are? So many arrive with a mask and present incredibly good energy only to find that next you are having to dance to their tune or else pay the price, the price of a peacock feather.

This is the challenge for the month of March actually just until the Ides of March, only a few days, to look at where we daily would like to influence another person to dance to our song. How does this subtle stickiness sneak in? How does the entitlement, or expectation direct our thoughts and, in this exercize, the way we latch those needs onto others. Because if it is true that we have faith and trust in a highter power, then we will also be able to, without convincing anyone else to help you, have all of our needs met from the God within.

For me, I know when I have risen up to a level of my understanding that feels undeniably freeing yet alive, warm and sweet, breezy like the wind ungraspable, tranquil and satisfying with a rosey glow yet fully able to perform all of my tasks throughout the day. With all of the many moods that accompany that rise and fall there is one who is a governing and smiling busy body internally inspiring evey action. Call it a mellow like a Sade song or don't call it anything at all. The only way to fully exerience this richness, this bliss this acceptance and this grace is to loosen your grip on each kite string that you are trying to control and allow the kite to soar higher, then higher. How beautiful it looks dancing in the sky with ribbons whispering behind. No words are needed, nothing has to be done. This is the swan song, this is my letter of love to you.
